Introduction

I was looking for something different than a legacy type challenge. I've mostly only done legacy challenges except in TS2 I did some of the challenges from TSR or when there is a contest going on. Sometimes though, I just want a challenge that is quick (Like the BW challenge) that only lasts one generation or whatever, so I went searching. I found a few that I am wanting to try out so I am sure I'll be sharing them as I do.

The one that stuck out to me right now was the Doppelganger challenge. It's not really a challenge in the way I play challenges though. Not really a goal to get to or anything like that. In fact the rules are pretty basic. Create 2 Sims that look exactly alike, put them in the same hood and play each one for 3 days with story progression on. See what happens while your not playing one. Pretty basic.

I've changed it up a little bit though for me. I created (well used an EA modified) a sim in CAS. He was a maid for I believe my Perfect Genetics Challenge. When he was the maid there I had already edited him in CAS a bit for his looks and had been waiting to use him in one of my challenges. I am not sure of what his name was, but I changed it for this challenge.

The thing I did that were not mentioned in the rules, is that I made his doppelganger his complete opposite. The only thing the have in common is looks.

This is Drew Ganger (He is the maid I was telling you about)

I kept everything about him the same but his name and his traits. For the purpose of this challenge he was changed to all positive traits. Good Sense of Humor, Good, Excitable, Charismatic and Lucky.

When I changed him in CAS long ago, I had made him the orange he is because his favorite color is orange. He likes Soul, Vegetarian Dim Sum and his sign is a Virgo.

To make his doppelganger I wanted the complete opposites of Drew. So Gage Doppel was created. In art the opposite of orange is blue, so Gage who was orange, got a blue makeover.

He also got the opposite traits as Drew. Gage is Evil, No Sense of Humor, Unlucky, a Loser and Grumpy! He's going to be fun to play! I changed up his likes also as an evil grumpy jerk doesn't seem to go good with vegetarian food. He's more of a steak kind of guy Tri-Tip steak to be exact. He aslo can't stand soul and loves dark wave instead. He hates the color orange but loves the color blue. He too though is a Virgo.

I kept their star signs the same, to see if that would make them a little alike on personalities.

So now for the houses. I put a lot of thought into this lol. They have eyesores for houses. Their decorating is going to give me a headache and their colors clash really bad. I don't mind blue and orange together on the small scale, but this is going a bit overboard!

Drew's house is blue with and orange roof and orange trimming for everything. He also gets his favorite color for his truck. I did mothelode for building as I wanted them to each have a basic house to start off with. You'll understand why once I get to it.

Gage's house was the opposite of Drew's. He got an orange house with blue trim and a blue rood. He also got a truck in his favorite color.

So after building both houses, and furnishing them, I took their funds down to 0 for each. Both have almost the same size lot their houses were built on, I think Drew's is a 30x30 and Gage's is a 25x30. They are both 2 bedrooms, but Drew does have an extra bathroom, that 5 extra spaces came in handy for that.

With the houses build, it was time to figure out who I was going to play first. I grabbed out my handy dandy dice and rolled. 1,2,3 was going to be Drew, 4,5,6 would be Gage. I rolled a 4. Gage it is!

This is where I am now. I just activated Gage's house, and I will play first. I am debating right now if I am going to do the standard 3 days the rules calls for, or if I am going to do a whole week with one guy. The thing I see happening though if I do a whole week, is that the one I am not playing will have a lot of time to do a lot of stuff on their own. I almost think 3 days might be too little though. I read some people do 5 days instead of 3, so that might be an option also. I will see as I play.

So that is it for now, I will let you guys know what takes place with these two. How different will they be, or more importantly how alike will they be?

Drew's LTW is to be a master magician, and Gage's is to be a celebrity psychic. Will they each get to their LTW's? Will they start families on their own, or will I help them with that? Will they have children that are doppelgangers also? I'm excited to find out!

For now I am only doing one generations, if by some weird thing they do have kids and they are doppelgangers, I might keep going to see what the next generation produces. We will see!
